Midwifery Care

“Birth allows for layers of you to unfold in ways that the conscious mind has never manifested...be patient as it unravels.”

MIDWIFERY CARE

Birth in Color provides preconception counseling, prenatal care, labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care for each family through 6 weeks postpartum. This provides a unique opportunity for families to receive personalized care without bias. Families are seen monthly until they reach 28 weeks gestation, followed by every 2 weeks until 36 weeks gestation and then weekly appointments from 36 weeks until the birth of the baby. Birth in Color Midwifery uniquely offers 2 in-home visits at 36 and 37 weeks gestation. Birth in Color offers 2 visits a week for the mom that goes beyond 40 weeks gestation to maintain a closer look at the pregnancy.

All postpartum care is completed in the client’s home space with the 6 week follow up visit is offered in the office. This kind of care allows for intimacy, growth in your education around home-birth and family centered care on all levels.

Placenta Encapsulation

“80% of first time mothers get the baby blues…”

PLACENTA ENCAPSULATION

Birth in Color Midwifery has been able to serve families who are interested in supporting their postpartum recovery utilizing placenta encapsulation for the last 10 years. If one is choosing to consider using encapsulation to help during the recovery post-birth as the body begins the normal re-balancing process, it is also just as important to have a supported postpartum recovery as well. Birth in Color works with families to increase their knowledge base about this process and make sure that it is an appropriate fit. Placenta encapsulation can have tremendous benefits, but important to remember we are all unique and benefits can vary from one person to the next.
